  • Unfinished symphony in my new flat... 477

Soon I will be moving in a new flat.      When I bought it, it was in a state of despair. The former owners moved into a new house and they left behind a shabby place that they were visiting now and then, in the hope that their son will, eventually move in.  But the son found a girl and a job in Cj and never looked back.     I bought it seeing in it the cosy place that it could become and started renovating it.     Below I will guide you through different phases of the working symphony, room by room. • Lately... 553

I've read a few good books. I really did.The first one was The white Tiger by Aravind Aviga. The book was a present from Ab. and it really reminded me of The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid when it came to the narrative layout. Of course, the degree of likability of the main character is different and The White Tiger manages almost the impossible in depicting the biography of a rather vile person who seems, at times, almost endearing in his effort to change his destiny. It must  be the underdog halo which always made me like Tom better than Jerry. I guess that's a childish comparison. The Fundamentalist is the book that I left behind, in London, in Petra's house. She was a German living in UK and might have had a sudden revelation of the usually unnoticed hues of the mingling effort. But maybe she didn't, who knows?

  • Winter steps... 516

Hamburg on a rainy day. Steps that lead nowhere in particularly. Into churches to have the clothes dry, into little coffee shops to savour a hot chocolate while letting the clothes dry, into an art museum with the hope of seeing Magritte. Rushed steps towards the closing door of the exhibition. Missed gloves, trains, buses, words and unstoppable rain. Koln is resilient, peaceful and in transit. Of  delayed trains and cold mornings. Only the locks of the bridge look sad. They remind me of my first trip here years ago and the hope of locked love, of the first
