Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) has released an app that collects data about complaints and human behavior. With the COVID Radar app, the LUMC wants to get a good picture of how the coronavirus spreads in the Netherlands.
The app is intended to answer a total of fifteen questions about health and behavior. In this way, researchers hope to gain more insight into how the epidemic develops, who is at greater risk, the effect of social distancing and where and when the hospital can expect a demand for care.
Initially, the LUMC will use the data to gain insight into the distribution and context in its own region. The national data set is also available for other medical institutions and research centers.
