The first coronavirus infection has been reported on the island of Terschelling in the northern Netherlands, the Mayor Jon Hermans-Vloedbeld revealed. Because of privacy reasons not much information was provided about the patient except that is an old person.

“Although it was only a matter of time that the virus would also spread in Terschelling, it is still very annoying when it affects someone,” Hermans-Vloedbeld said. “I wish the patient strength and improvement and I hope that we can help and support each other as much as possible to get through this unpleasant period.”
Corona infections have been reported also on the Dutch island of Texel. One patient with the coronavirus died there.
