Hi lovelies!! I decided to start a new series of articles here on the blog, and I really hope you’ll like it

I usually test a lot of products, but not all of them get a full review on the blog. So I figured I could do a “Product of the week” series, where I just talk about a certain product each week, and share a few impressions and details about it.

These will mainly be from the skincare, haircare or bodycare range, and I’ll keep on doing more detailed reviews about make-up products. Let me know in the comment section below what do you think & if you like the idea!

For today, I wanted to talk about the micellar water that I’m currently using.

Micellar water has been a part of my skincare routine for a long time now. I’ve tried many of them in the past few years, from many brands, and I’ve yet to find my all-time-favorite.

So recently I bought a new one from the romanian brand Elmiplant. The Xpress Effect micellar water is a new launch for the brand, I think it’s been the market for a couple of weeks now, I’m not sure.

The thing is, I feel like I have a love-hate relationship with this product.

Why I love it

Well, it’s the most efficient micellar water I tried so far. You only need a small amount of product to remove all the make-up, the dirt, everything. I use 2-3 cotton pads to get a fresh clean face.

This is a lot more efficient than the one from Bioderma, or Garnier, or Nivea. Honestly, it’s so quick and easy to use, and it can remove even waterproof mascara or eyeliner. I prefer to use it only on the face, but it does a tremendous job for the eyes and lips as well.

It’s paraben, paraffin and colorant free, and it’s marketed as good for any skin type. It has water-lily extract, and it doesn’t feel oily or anything like that.

Why I hate it

So here comes the bad part: it has a lot of perfume! It has such an intense smell, that is hard to ignore. So I guess it’s not a good fit for sensitive skin. The list of ingredients is also quite long, which could be concerning.

Compared to the Bioderma Sensibio micellar water, which has a mild formula, the Xpress Effect one is quite harsh. It almost feels like a tonic lotion, if that makes any sense Don’t get me wrong, it feels nice and refreshing on the skin, but it’s a very different sensation than the other ones I’ve tried so far.

Would I buy it again? Well, I’m not quite sure. It does make my evening routine much quicker and easier, and it does clean my face really well, much better than expected. But I’m a little concerned about the formula.

Price: 10-12 RON

Ingredients: Aqua, glycereth-7 caprylate/caprate, glycerin, peg-20 glyceryl triisostearate, sodium cocoyl apple amino acids, hexylene glycol, allantoin panthenol, betaine, parfum, tocopheryl acetate, zinc gluconate, magnesium aspartate, copper gluconate, nymphaea alba flower extract, lactic acid, tetrasodium edta, sodium hydroxide, phenoxyethanol, chlorophenesin.

Have you tried this micellar water? What’s your ride or die skincare product at the moment?

Make sure you don’t miss any new updates!
