Hi lovelies and welcome back to my blog! I’ve been using the Sleek I-Divine Oh So Special eyeshadow palette for a couple of months now, so I can finally tell you my opinion about it

I already shared my first impressions back in February, but today we’re going to talk a bit more about each shade, with swatches and everything. So if you’re thinking about buying this product, or if you’re curious how I feel about this eyeshadow palette, then keep on reading

So I bought it in January from makeup-shop.ro, after having it on my wishlist for more than a year (!). Yep, it was a long time until I finally decided to add this beautiful palette in my make-up collection.

I own several Sleek products, and so far I’ve been really satisfied. They are all highly pigmented, long-lasting and easy to apply, so I was really curious about the eyeshadow palettes as well.

Packaging & shades

One thing I like about Sleek is that their products come in a pretty luxurious packaging. They look much more expensive than they really are. Same thing with the eyeshadow palette – it has a big mirror incorporated, and the eyeshadows come in a solid dark black case.

And it looks much smaller than the Makeup Revolution palettes, although the quantity is more or less the same. So this makes it great for travel as well.

The Oh So Special palette is super versatile, because it has 7 matte shades & 5 shimmery ones, perfect to create any kind of make-up look. The color selection is really clever, because you have all the essential shades in one palette.

You have a dark black, perfect to use as an eyeliner, you have 2 transition shades, a few shimmery accents and also some romantic flattering shades. This is the best you can get: with one palette, you can create soft or intense smokey eyes, or any other looks suitable for a date, for work, for the club or even for a special event.

If you’re just getting started with make-up, I think this would be the best choice. These 12 colors should be enough to help you experiment with different looks.

Resistance & how to apply them

They last really well during the day, with or without a base. I usually like to apply them on top of the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk, which is a really good base and makes the shades much more vibrant and intense. But sometimes, I just use a bit of concealer and powder as a base for the lids.

Depending on the shades I’m using, sometimes after 10-12 hours they tend to crease a bit, but if you have a brush handy to give it a little blend, it will look as good as new. So the resistance is good, and you don’t have to worry about doing any touch-ups until late in the evening.

Swatches

Overall, they are all highly pigmented and intense, but they’re not all the same. So let’s talk about each color:

  • Bow – this is the least pigmented of them all, but it’s good as a base for the other eyeshadows
  • Pamper – a light pink, works great as a transition shade, but it’s not too pigmented
  • Organza – a beautiful shimmery pink. Highly pigmented, but only if you apply it with your fingers. With a brush, it kinda’ gets lost in the other shades
  • Gateau – another gorgeous pink, but this one is a bit darker, with a mauve tint. Same pigmentation as Organza
  • Ribbon – a matte pink-coral shade, very flattering and easy to integrate in any look
  • The Mail – the perfect transition shade for the crease, it’s a matte light nude
  • Gift Basket – this was a pleasant surprise, because it doesn’t look too special when you first see it, but it looks amazing on the lids. It’s perfect as a color accent, because of those gold metallic reflexions
  • Boxed – this one works great on the outer V, to give dimension to your look. You can also use it to contour your eyebrows. It has a little fallout, but it’s pigmented and easy to blend
  • Glitz – this one was a challenge for me, because it’s very pigmented, but hard to blend. So if you apply too much color, it’s gonna be really hard to blend it out and make it look OK. However, I think it’s a great choice for the lower lid, to give you a pop of color
  • Wrapped Up – this is a darker brown matte shade, with a good pigmentation, that has a bit of a red undertone (so it’s not a good choice for eyebrows)
  • Celebrate – I really wanted to like this one; it’s highly pigmented, when you swatch it, it looks amazing, but it’s also really hard to blend, and you need to slowly add up color if you want to get a nice smokey eye. Don’t apply too much, or else it just looks like a dirty mess
  • Noir – this is the perfect black shade, great for sultry smokey eyes; and you can also use it as an eyeliner

Buy it from: makeup-shop.ro, sleek.com, Kendra

Price: 49 lei (11 euros)

Overall, I would recommend this eyeshadow palette, because you can use it for many different looks, while paying a really friendly price. The shades have a good color payoff, good pigmentation and they last pretty well. So if you want to try a Sleek palette, you could start with this one

And now the tough question: do I like it more than the Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 palette, my all-time favorite? Well, the color selection is better in the Sleek palette. But I personally think that Iconic 3 has better eyeshadows – they have a soft creamy texture, they’re easier to blend and last even better on the eyelids. And I’m seriously thinking of buying the Naked 3 palette, which has the same shades, but a higher quality – so it should be a good investment.

Let me know in the comment section below: have you tried the Sleek Oh So Special eyeshadow palette, did you like it? What’s your favorite Sleek palette?
