    Dincolo de aerul proaspat si de verdele reconfortant al padurii, pe munte ai sansa sa vezi si acele flori care dau culoare si umplu de farmec fanetele, poienile sau pasunile alpine. Gingase si rezistente totodata, plantele salbatice cresc de la poalele si pana pe crestele muntilor, gasind conditii de viata prielnice atat in camp deschis, cat si la umbra copacilor. Daca unele specii prefera vecinatatea racoroasa a paraurilor, altele se simt in largul lor in terenuri mlastinoase sau in frunzarul putrezit al padurii. Mai "curajoase" si mai bine "dotate" cu sisteme de protectie (forme pitice sau taratoare, dimensi-uni reduse, epiderma groasa, cu tepi sau perisori fini, ce formeaza o adevarata pasla, rezerve de apa in tesutul frunzei etc.) sunt plantele care reusesc sa "colonizeze" stancile golase ale varfurilor de pana la 2.000 m altitudine.     Carpaţii româneşti fac parte din sectorul estic al sistemului muntos alpin, bine individualizat prin direcţia generală a culmilor principale, prin altitudine, prin masivitate şi structură.
