The new line I'm creating has taken all my strength and ambition, not to mention my sleep. I'm also drowning in uncertainty when it comes to how people will perceive it. I know my stuff is not that popular and I understand why it wouldn't appeal to a more general public but sometimes I wonder if I'm good at what I'm doing at all. Don't get me wrong, I have clients and people have worn my pieces proudly but there's this gloomy feeling that I'm not good enough. I believe it's probably due to my depression and poor self esteem. I've read a comment yesterday on another blog where a woman was saying that she believes a person's self esteem is reflected in the business they run and I couldn't agree more. My lack of self esteem has deterred me from making my work seen and also making it available out there. I've received countless proposals to pair up with other businesses that were definitely more popular than mine but I often refuse them because I feel I'm not a good match and my stuff woul

I've been working with this concept of a powerful woman image that I want to add to my jewelry. There's nothing political about it, I just want women to feel proud and empowered when they wear my pieces, or make others feel strong when they offer them as gifts. So these particular pieces have been recreated and reshaped and remade to the point that I feel a bit nauseous when I think about the process. But I'm still trying to find a perfect face that would express a woman being content, happy, strong and mysterious. Still working on that and when I find that perfect face I'm going to make a series of pendants or brooches that can be customized with other details. I also want them to have a bit of an Art Nouveau feel to them, like the carved pendants that were popular in the 19th century. For now I'll just leave you with some of the ones I've come up with during this process. As you can see green is my favorite color :)

I have been extremely busy lately and I know I always use that excuse, but I'm working on an actual product line for my store and I've been working on my Fairytales art jewelry collection. I've posted them already on my FB but I'm posting them on my blog too since I decided I'm not going to use FB that much. This particular piece was inspired from The Sleeping Beauty story but I wanted to give it a little twist so I decided I would make it in a biopunk and cyberpunk style with Sleeping Beauty hooked up to machines that feed off her dreams. The theme can be quite dark but I've used playful colors to suggest the dreaming state she is in so the necklace didn't turn out too uncomfortably dark. I've already done other characters but I'm pretty stuck with Cinderella and The Little Mermaid. I wish I could add some dark themes to those but I've been trying to figure out what exactly to add. I haven't posted anything new because I've been on vacation. I'm really struggling to get back into some form of schedule to make sure I have enough time for my art. The weather has been dreadful and I just couldn't take any good pictures.I've never had problems being inspired but I do struggle to choose one of my ideas I should eventually sculpt. Lately I've been thinking about creating a fairytale series that has a dark biopunk theme. I've done just one for now, it's called The Fairest of them All, so you can guess who it is. This one is not so dark overall, it's quite colorful actually, but it kinda has a creepy vibe to it.

This year has been awesome for me in terms of learning new things. I've started sculpting human faces and I've made quite some progress, so I'm proud of myself. I've also started my Etsy store and I'm trying to figure that out too. This is not new but it's among the latest sets I've made. It's a biopunk inspired set called Overseer. I've made this using crystals, polymer clay, resin and copper. I had so much fun making it, I would love to make another with different colors but I haven't figured out what combinations I would like to use. As I mentioned in another post, I'm inspired by cyberpunk lately, especially biotechnology and I hope this really reflects my current obsession. Another obsession I have nowadays is marine life, especially fossils, but I'll talk about that in another post as some of my creations haven't been cured yet.

I don't even know what I've been working on lately, with Christmas coming, Halloween and a few personal problems, things have been a mess. But fortunately, I have time to write on my blog now, which makes me pretty happy. So let's get on with it. I was feeling bohemian a few weeks ago after I had a few orders that featured flowers and colors and all that nice stuff, so I made a custom listing on Etsy that for these types of statement pendants.

These were made about two months ago but I haven't had time to post them. I've been trying to create a more realistic face for quite some time now, and although I need improvement, I think I managed to create something that resembles the human face. I don't like the blue haired one though, I think I'm gonna skip the flowers next time.

I had an Alien marathon this weekend and I got really inspired so I created this cyberpunk-ish necklace. I'm still learning and I've been researching cyberpunk for a long time now, hoping to make more jewelry inspired by the genre. This was made with clay, resin, suede, silver plated wire and other metallic parts.

This was just something that I really did not plan. I sculpted the face and then I decided I didn't like how she looked, pretty plain tbh. So I started painting her and got inspired by Alice in Wonderland. I made the Queen of Hearts. She looks a bit crazy but I guess that's the whole idea.

Here are some other items from my collection, mostly inspired by nature. However, after I finished this collection I got really inspired by some games I've been playing like Technobabylon, Gemini Rue or, perhaps the first cyberpunk game I played, System Shock. Anyway, along with some Alien-esque themes, I will be adding part of that collection in the future.But here's this collection. I has been a darker period in my life so I think it kinda transcends in what I make.
